first of all, congratulations on your graduation from the graduate school
I have been following your blog last a few months after searching for "mfa in cinematography" on google.
I am originally from istanbul/Turkey and I had studied filmmaking in Canada for a long time ago.
I have been planning to study for a master degree as well and Academy of Art University is on my list.
here's my questions
1- do you recommend the academy of art university and the its film school?
2- does the school also has MFA in film directing program? I have seen your films on vimeo and I noticed that you also directed your films, was it your choice?
3-how much did you spend for all your projects during your studies(except tuition)
and
4-how is life treating you after graduation? are you still in michigan?

1 - What is your focus. I feel like you will get more out of the program depending on what your emphasis is.
2 - The school has a directing program. I chose to direct most of my films, if I had a choice, I wouldn’t have directed my thesis, but I couldn’t find anyone who was a good match. But I don’t recommend directing if you are also the DP and/or Camera operator.
3 - A LOT. I (through work, freelancing, and funding I did on my own), incredible Kickstarter backers, and my parents generous help I was able to fund all my projects.
4 - Rough, really rough. I’m still in Michigan working, but not for long..I’m ready for a new adventure.
